How to Calculate Amazon FBA Revenue

Revenue sounds like the simple part. It isn’t. Most sellers look at their gross revenue figure in Seller Central and treat it as income. It’s not income — it’s the starting line. What you calculate from here determines whether your business is actually growing or just moving money around.

The FBA Profit Formula:

Net Profit = Net Revenue − (COGS + Inbound Shipping + Prep & Packaging + PPC Ad Cost + Returns Provision)

Breaking each one down with real numbers against that $24.59 net revenue:

  • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

Your per-unit landed cost from supplier. This is invoice price plus any inspection fees. If you're sourcing from China at $7.50 per unit, that's your COGS. Don't use FOB price — use the actual cost including any supplier-side charges. Subtract: $7.50

  • Inbound Shipping to Amazon

Total freight cost divided by total units in the shipment. A $1,200 sea freight shipment for 500 units works out to $2.40 per unit. Air freight for the same shipment runs $3.50–$5.00 per unit. This cost is real and it's yours — not Amazon's. Subtract: $2.40

  • Prep and Packaging

Poly-bagging, bubble wrap, labelling, fragile stickers, or any 3PL prep service. Even if you handle it yourself, factor in the cost of materials per unit. If you're using a prep centre, you're typically paying $0.50–$1.50 per unit depending on the service level. Subtract: $0.75

Amazon Revenue Calculator — See Your Real Profit Before You Source a Single Unit

Selling on Amazon looks profitable on the surface. You find a product, set a price, and do the math. Then the payout arrives and it’s $4 short per unit. Multiply that by 800 units and you’ve lost $3,200 you never saw coming.

That’s exactly what this Amazon FBA revenue calculator is built to prevent. Enter your selling price, product cost, FBA fees, and ad spend — and you get a complete picture of your net profit, margin, ROI, and break-even price before you commit to a single purchase order. No guesswork. No surprises on payout day.

Stripe's Standard Rate Is 2.9% + $0.30 — But That's Only for US Domestic Cards

PayPal fee structure has two sides that most sellers treat as one. There are the fees PayPal shows you on the pricing page — clean, percentage-based, easy to quote. Then there are the fees that show up on your actual payout statement, slightly different from what you calculated, for reasons that take a few minutes to explain but cost real money to learn the hard way.

This PayPal fee calculator gives you the accurate number before the transaction happens — not a rough estimate, the actual deduction based on your payment type, transaction size, and whether your buyer is domestic or international.

Commercial transaction fees

The standard rate for PayPal is also known as the PayPal standard rate. Whenever funds are processed via American Express, there is no additional international fee. The fixed fee varies depending on the currency of the payment. In addition to that, PayPal will also convert the payment into your account’s currency at a market rate that is based on your account’s currency.

People Also Ask About Amazon FBA Revenue Fee Calculator

It covers referral fees, FBA fulfillment fees, storage, product cost, inbound shipping, PPC spend, and returns. Amazon's own revenue calculator skips your COGS and ad spend — which is exactly where most sellers miscalculate their actual margin.

Amazon's tool shows fees. This revenue calculator shows profit — after every cost you actually carry. Supplier cost, inbound shipping, PPC, placement fees — all included. That's the number your business runs on, not the fee estimate.

Minimum 20% net before ad spend. PPC on most categories runs 10–25% of revenue, so anything below 20% pre-ads leaves you exposed to margin wipe-out the moment a competitor drops price or Amazon updates fees.

Usually one of three things — wrong referral rate for your category, dimensional weight applied instead of actual weight, or the 2024 inbound placement service fee not being factored in. Cross-check your Seller Central fee preview to find the gap.

Yes. Run the numbers with FBA fees, then replace them with your own fulfilment cost. FBM wins on heavy, slow-moving products. FBA wins where Prime conversion lift justifies the fee. The calculator gives you both sides — the decision depends on your margins and logistics setup.
